Listening to: What a Catch, Donnie by Fall Out Boy
One of the very few songs on their most recent album that is actually worth listening to.I have been doing STAR testing all week. I love STAR testing for the most part, it gives me time to read, or just sit and think. Or not think. All things I don't have time for on regular days.
I feel like things in my life are settling down once again. Probably the calm before the storm, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless.
Something has been bothering me lately, and that would be my dad's alcoholism. He has always been an alcoholic, and I usually just ignored it. But from what I hear from other people in my family (I don't talk to my dad, so I wouldn't know personally) my dad's drinking has been getting progressively worse.
Now, I know it would be conceited of me to think his alcoholism/depression is on account of me not talking to him, but it would make sense. My dad and I used to be closer than any two people I know. Then he screwed it up, doing things and lying about things he shouldn't of. I'm not going to go into detail, but let's just say he wasn't very nice.
Alright, to the point. His drinking worries me because I'm not there to tell him to knock it off and watch what he's doing. I know that being fifteen years old, I shouldn't have to take care of my dad, but sometimes I do. And I know I shouldn't care about him anymore, and I don't for the most part. I still think about him all the time.
Everytime I go to the store, and see a girl with their dad, it breaks my heart. Because I remember those days like they were yesterday. The days when we used to be friends.
Mk, that's enough venting for one blog.
Love you all,
Kayla Marie

Don't say you think you know when you know you don't
Listening to: Bulls in Brooklyn by The Academy Is...
Wow, I listen to them way too often:)
I am so exhausted today. I only slept for like three hours last night, no joke. I think I have insomnia. Not fun at all:/
I saw the funniest thing yesterday! I was in the car driving to Turlock, and saw an old abandoned house with a sign out front that said, "free back rubs". A major WTF? moment. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever stopped there....
Next time I drive by I will try to get a picture of it to put on here. But until then you'll just have to imagine it.
I have star testing next week. I really don't mind them as much as everyone else seems to. I always finish with way too much time, and that leaves me some time to catch up on my reading. Or crocheting, whatever I'm in the mood for:)
I don't really have too much else to talk about. So leave me a comment, I changed it so anyone can leave me one as anonymous, you don't have to have a blogger account to leave a comment.
love you all,

Home Sick

Listening to: The Academy Is...'s cover of Working Class Hero by John Lennon.
My personal favorite song off of their acoustic EP. Unfortunatley, William did not play it at their show I went to about a month ago.
I am home sick, in the literal sense that I am at home, and sick. I really hate staying home most of the time, because there isn't much to do. Especially when you feel like your head is going to explode.
I watched a really good movie last night, called Seven Pounds. Will Smith is in it, and it was absolutely amazing. I would elaborate and tell you
what the movie is about, but I really don't want to
ruin it. So, you'll just have to go out and watch it yourself.
Going to take a nap.
love you all,

Fun Weekend

That is a picture of my darling best friend and me:)
Listening to: Beautiful Rescue by This Providence
This weekend was amazing:) I went back to Durham, and spent some time with my friends and family. Thursday I went to the school, and hung out with my friends during lunch, and went to a few of their classes. Ate some recycling with Mike during Algebra II, it really wasn't too bad.
I went to lunch with some cool cats on Friday, then went back to the school after it was out and played volleyball with Robles like the good ole days. Saara spent the night, and we went to Brad's baseball game, where we hung out with Mike (we made him brownies), Avery, Stark, and Austin.
Saturday I spent with my family, Peter, and LK. We went to the Shell station and drank wayyyyy too much soda. My stomach actually still hurts. haha. Saturday night we just chilled at home and made some prank calls.
Then I went home today. I would elaborate on the weekend a bit more, but I am exhausted and I have a paper to write.
Love you all,
Kayla Marie

Listening to: I'd Lie by Taylor Swift
Probably my favorite Taylor Swift song:)
Today was probably the slowest day of my life. I had no one to text, all of my friends are in school again. Lamesauce, I know. I didn't leave the house once. Isn't that sad? haha. But I'm going to build a graham cracker house tomorrow, I promise there will be pictures:)
I'm tired, so I'll cut this one off short
